NON PHIXION DISBANDS, MEMBERS TO PURSUE SOLO PROJECTS
After a successful, influential and critically acclaimed ten year career, New York's underground hip hop staple Non Phixion has decided the time has come to call it a day. Non Phixion released their first single back in 1996 and never looked back. The next several years saw the release of multiple Non Phixion 12" singles, but it was their 2002 full-length release "The Future Is Now", with its infectious beats and raw uncut rhymes that finally put Non Phixion on the map as a force to be reckoned with. Non Phixion soon developed a strong following inthe United States, Europe and Japan through word of mouth and extensive touring. Then in 2004, Non Phixion released their highly successful "The Green CD/DVD", solidifying their worldwide dedicated fan base.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end. Within any group, team or unit each individual must pull their own weight for that unit to exist and prosper. After years of dealing with and concealing Goretex's general unreliability and total lack of interest in touring, writing and recording music with Non Phixion, the rest of the group has reluctantly opted to bring it to a dignified end in order to maintain the group's integrity. Continuing on without any one member of this group would be bullshit. With that being said, ILL BILL, Sabac Red & DJ Eclipse have decided to focus on their solo efforts and projects. ILL BILL's Uncle Howie Records has recently joined forces with Perfect Game Recording Co./Warner Music Group to release ILL BILL's next solo album/DVD "The Hour of Reprisal". The album will be released in early 2007 and follows up ILL BILL's debut solo effort "What's Wrong With Bill?" which came out in 2004. ILL BILL is also a member of a new group called La Coka Nostra, which in addition to Bill features House of Pain alumni Everlast, Danny Boy, and DJ Lethal, and newcomers Slaine & Big Left. ILL BILL also has plans to release a "Live at CBGB's" DVD later this year. Sabac Red is currently working on his next solo album and DVD entitled "The Ritual" which will feature production by Necro, ILL BILL, and others. This is the long awaited follow up to his 2004 solo effort "Sabacolypse". 2007 will also see the release of DJ Eclipse's "Halftime Show" DVD highlighting interviews and freestyles with guestsf rom his radio show which can be heard every Wednesday night on 89.1 WNYU from 10:30PM to 1AM in NYC or at www.wnyu.org. Both projects will be released on Uncle Howie Records. And for all those bummed out Non Phixion fans out there, the good news is that Bill, Sabac and Eclipse will definitely continue to work closely together live in concert and on future projects. Stay posted to www.unclehowie.com as well as the upcoming websites www.sabacred.com, www.illbill.com and www.halftimeradioshow.com for future news.
